Parents of children entering kindergarten or first grade in the Knox County Public School System need the following information and documents:

• A certified copy of the child's birth certificate
• Immunization records
• The child's Social Security card
• Proof of address

Students transferring into the Knox County Public School System must bring proof of address as well as a copy of their most recent report card.

If you have a valid license from another state, only a vision test is required. For a first-time license, you must have a certified birth certificate, pass a written test concerning the rules of the road, vision test and a road test. All applicants must also have verification of their Social Security number.
